Data Processing

TrashPanda operates entirely on your local machine:

• File scanning and analysis occurs only on your device
• No file contents are read, copied, or transmitted
• Only file metadata (size, dates, paths) is processed for cleaning decisions
• All operations respect macOS security permissions and Full Disk Access requirements

Permissions

TrashPanda requests the following macOS permissions to function:

• Full Disk Access: Required to access system cache directories and perform thorough cleaning. This permission is used solely for file deletion and does not involve reading file contents.
• File System Access: Necessary to scan and delete temporary files, caches, and logs in various system and user directories.

Analytics and Website Tracking

TrashPanda Application: The TrashPanda application itself does not include any analytics, telemetry, or tracking mechanisms. The app operates completely offline regarding data transmission.

Website Analytics: This website uses GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand website usage patterns:

• What we collect: Page views, referrer information, basic device/browser type, and general geographic location (country level)
• No personal identification: GoatCounter does not collect personal information, IP addresses are anonymized, and no tracking cookies are used
• Data retention: Analytics data is retained for statistical purposes and is not linked to individual users
• Third-party service: GoatCounter is hosted by an independent service provider focused on privacy-compliant analytics
• Opt-out: You can disable JavaScript or use browser privacy settings to prevent analytics collection

Third-Party Services

TrashPanda Application: The app operates as a standalone utility without external dependencies for data processing or transmission.

Website Services: This website integrates with the following third-party services:

• Stripe: Payment processing for purchases. Stripe handles all payment data according to their privacy policy and PCI compliance standards. We do not store or access your payment information.
• GoatCounter: Privacy-focused website analytics as described above.

Data Security

Since TrashPanda operates entirely locally and does not collect personal data:
