These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and TrashPanda ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Software.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Install and use the Software on devices you own or control
• Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes
• Make backup copies of the Software for archival purposes

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software
• Distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the Software to third parties
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the Software
• Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
• Circumvent or disable any security features of the Software

4. Risk Assumption and Disclaimer

The Software is designed to identify and remove temporary files, caches, and other data that is generally safe to delete. However:

• You are responsible for reviewing all cleanup operations before proceeding
• You should use the dry-run preview feature to understand what will be deleted
• You should only select cleanup categories you understand
• You should maintain regular backups of important data
• We strongly recommend starting with "Easy Mode" for the safest experience

5. Warranties and Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT
• WARRANTIES THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED
• WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF RESULTS

We do not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements or that its operation will be error-free. Your use of the Software is at your sole discretion and risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE.

8. Educational Institution Access

TrashPanda may be available at no cost to verified educational institutions. Such access is subject to:

• Verification of educational institution status
• Use solely for educational or administrative purposes within the institution
• Compliance with the institution's IT policies and procedures
• These Terms of Service (excluding payment-related provisions)

9. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• The Software operates entirely locally on your device
• No file contents or personal data are transmitted to our servers
• This website uses privacy-focused analytics (GoatCounter) and Stripe for payments
• You retain all rights to your data and files

10. Intellectual Property

The Software and all related materials are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We retain all right, title, and interest in the Software.

11. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. We may terminate your license immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies.

12. Updates and Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through our website or app updates. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
